Terry George (born 14 March 1965) is an openly gay, British entrepreneur,[1] philanthropist,[2] nightclub tycoon,[3] photographer and celebrity columnist. He was born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Business interests

George, with civil partner Michael Rothwell, owns a gay directory inquiries service, a gay adult chatline industry, adult SMS text services (gaytxt.com amongst others), gay mail order company (http://shop.bent.com/), a national gay magazine Bent (Magazine),[4] male beauty contest Mr Gay UK.[4] George is the founder of a free memorial website paying tribute to lost loved ones, GoneTooSoon. He also owns a nightclub and two bars in Leeds.

George has featured in three television documentaries about Michael Jackson, Secret Millionaire (Channel 4), Star Traders: The Christmas Challenge (ITV1) and Louis Theroux's - Louis search for Michael Jackson (BBC). George writes a celebrity column in the Leeds Guide and a weekly column in the Huddersfield Examiner.

George has published two books of photography, Carnival in Rio: Samba, Samba, Samba and Leeds Rhinos Access All Areas.

Personal life

Terry George and partner Michael Rothwell formed a civil partnership on the first day upon which it was possible to do so, 21 December 2005, at 8:00am.[1][5]

For the last five years George and Rothwell have hosted a charity bonfire at their castle, proceeds being donated to Cancer Research.[2] The castle itself featured on Channel 5's Britain's Best Home and was eventually voted the winner in a public vote.

TV series

George and partner Rothwell featured in a 6 part fly on the wall documentary titled Two Queens and a Castle. The program was broadcast on the Bio Channel and drew successful viewing figures.
